About Our Vinyl Kits
What products does Vinyl Fox offer?
Vinyl Fox specializes in precision-crafted vinyl graphics that are easy to install and feature unique designs that stand out from others on the market.
Are your vinyl kits custom-made or pre-designed?
We offer a range of pre-designed vinyl kits, but we also love custom projects. If you’re interested in a custom design, check out our custom options here.
How do I choose the right vinyl kit for my vehicle?
The best way to confirm whether a product will fit is by using our vehicle selector on the homepage, along with the individual product pages. If you’re unsure about fitment, feel free to reach out to us for assistance here.
What materials are your vinyl kits made from?
For most of our inlay kits and certain other vinyl kits, we primarily use Avery 1105 with Briteline WrapCast Lamination. We also offer different finishes upon request. For other types of kits, we use a variety of materials. If you’d like to confirm the exact vinyl for your graphics, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Installation
What’s the best installation method?
We primarily use the wet installation method for our vinyl kits, as we believe it’s the easiest and most effective way to ensure a smooth application. For most kits, we highly recommend this method. However, for graphics that need to be applied around “compound curves,” where the vinyl must conform to curves in multiple directions, we suggest using the dry installation method.
If you prefer the dry installation method, rest assured that all of our kits can be applied dry. However, please note that we do not create instructional videos for the dry method, as we typically recommend the wet method for these specific applications.
How do I install using the Wet Method?
*This is a basic guide - for more detail and visuals, please visit one of our installation guides here.
1. Clean the Surface
Use the provided prep solution to spray the area where the vinyl will be applied, then thoroughly wipe it down with the microfiber towel.
2. Pre-Spray the Area
Generously spray the same surface with the provided install solution and let it sit while you prepare the vinyl.
3. Peel and Spray the Vinyl
Peel the vinyl off the backing, then spray the adhesive side. Spray the surface you’re applying the vinyl to, and loosely rest the vinyl on the surface.
4. Align the Vinyl
Lightly spray the face of the vinyl. Adjust it into place, then hold it while using your finger (for smaller decals) or a squeegee to push out excess solution from behind the vinyl.
5. Adhesion Process
Once the excess solution is squeegeed out, lightly wipe the area with a microfiber towel. Repeat the squeegee process with more pressure to ensure proper adhesion. If the vinyl shifts, hold it in place while continuing to squeegee.
6. Final Touches
Gently wipe the area around the vinyl. Avoid car washes for at least 48 hours to allow the vinyl to fully bond.
Do you provide installation instructions for your vinyl kits?
Yes! We provide vinyl kit-specific installation videos. The installation process is generally the same for different kits (like Maverick vs. Ranger Tailgate Letters), although we still film separate videos for each to make installation as simple as possible.
What tools do I need to install a vinyl kit?
We include all the tools you need for installation with every kit. In our installation videos, we also mention additional items you might need, like water or a heat gun (if not added during checkout).
Can I install the vinyl kit myself, or should I hire a professional?
Our mission is to make vinyl kits that anyone can install, even if you have no prior experience. We provide everything you need for installation, so you won’t have to purchase any additional tools.
Do you offer installation services?
Yes, we offer in-house installation at our facility in Frederick, MD. If you’re local, we’d be happy to install your graphics for you.
How durable are your vinyl kits?
Our vinyl kits generally last between 3-6 years, depending on factors like UV exposure and how well the vinyl is maintained.
How should I care for my vinyl kit once it’s installed?
• Clean gently with a soft cloth or microfiber towel—avoid abrasive materials.
• Use mild soap and water, avoiding harsh chemicals or solvents.
• Avoid scrubbing aggressively or applying direct pressure when cleaning.
• Keep your vinyl away from extreme heat sources.
• Allow vinyl to air dry or use a soft, dry cloth.
• Be careful not to stretch or pull the edges of the vinyl.
• Avoid using direct pressure washing on the vinyl.
Fulfilment & Shipping
How long does it take to fulfill my order?
Our vinyl kits are printed in-house using Mimaki JV330, the pinnacle of eco-solvent wide format printers. The eco-solvent process requires outgassing for optimal durability, so we let the kits sit overnight. Orders placed by 4:00 PM are printed by 5:00 PM, and then they sit overnight to outgas. The following morning, we laminate, cut, and inspect the final product before packing for shipping. Typically, the fulfillment process takes 1-3 business days.
Can I track my order once it’s shipped?
Yes! Once your order has shipped, you’ll receive an email with tracking details so you can easily track your package.
Do you offer international shipping?
Currently, we only ship within the USA. We’re working on finding a simple way to offer international shipping in the future. Although, if you would like to place an order, please reach out.
What should I do if I haven’t received my order yet?
If there are any issues with your shipment, please reach out to us. While we cannot control the shipping process once the package is with UPS or USPS, we’ll do our best to help resolve any issues.
